The Seven Mile Bridges...old and new..This is the Seven Mile bridges in The Florida Keys... Unbelievable bridges.!! This card shows the outstanding aerial view of the old and the new Seven mile bridges.When Henry R Flagler built the original seven mile bridge it was then known as one of eighth wonder of the world. The bridge literally goes out to sea connecting Knights key and the lower keys it spans the largest water gap in the Florida keys.Over it once ran ran the trains of The Florida East Coast railways until a hurricane knocked out much of the overseas railway and was converted to a highway bridge in 1937. but time has taken its toll and and the state of Florida has built a new bridge paralleling the old bridge , another magnificent achievement .The old bridge now closed to traffic will become the worlds longest fishing pier.Thank you so much Ruby for this bridge card....another for the collection..
