Every year I go to the city to enjoy and watch the Chinese New Year Celebrations ..They are always so colourful and The Chinese Government always sends to Sydney many participants that are from a different area of China every Year ..these people can be performers, musicians.and various performers to join in the large celebrations that are held here due to the size of the large Chinese population that lives in Sydney and also in Australia..most cities in Australia have a large " China Town" and Chinese and Asian foods are extremely popular with all here..
This year they have displayed all of the Characters of the Chinese Zodiac..this year of course is . "The Year of the Rooster"..I have shown some of these lovely characters here ..covered in silk all these characters were lit up at night and looked truly amazing especially the main display of the Roosters at the Opera House.

The parades with the lion dance and The many different events to be enjoyed like the many dragon boat races make this a very popular festival for everyone to enjoy.
